Abundance, 2013

In 2012/213, after producing visually monolithic works, I started focusing on somewhat fuller compositions. These paintings contained an abundance of visual/compositional elements which didn’t create strong hierarchies, but were intended to co-exist and created various strands of meaning that would ultimately non-compete for attention.

These works were another part of my research into narrativity in painting, the original topic of my PhD thesis (which ultimately focused on “Painting and Digital Technologies”).

Works of this series were exhibited at Form/Space (Seattle), at Galerie Frey (Salzburg), Galerie Voss (Düsseldorf) and at Museum Angerlehner.
